It was clear from the test shots that the 24mm lens was substantially better for the majority of our shots due to its much greater field of view, however the 50mm would be effective for other handheld shots during the shoot, such as facial reactions/non-verbal language of the actor. Having two cameras like this on the day would be greatly beneficial, as it would allow us to experiment with the two cameras without constantly swapping lenses.
Another aspect I wanted to test was the ease of use and setup of the track and dolly, which proved to be very simple. With each track section measuring 1.5m, we are aiming to use five pieces on either side to achieve a total track length of 7.5m, at approximately 0.6m wide.One consideration we will have to bear in mind when filming is the noise produced by the track, as it is not completely silent (which is largely due to the uneven surface of the tunnel floor). This will mean that we either do not use diegetic sound from the footage, or we record it elsewhere when the track is not moving and use that instead.
